Have I mentioned my Art Blog?

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 14, 2012, 1:17 AM

So yeah, pretty much what the title says; have I ever mentioned to you guys that I have an art blog? I always put a link to it when uploading new stuff to my gallery here, but I don't think I've told you about it. So here goes... ;)

Well, actually I just wanted to mention what it's about. I post all of my finished art work here on deviantART, but in my art blog you can follow the process to my finished work that you can see here. In other words; if you wanna know more about my drawings/paintings or if you wanna see WIP (Work in progress) pictures of my work, then my art blog is the place to visit!

OK, enough pimping my blog, hehe...

Wishing you all a great weekend!

Let life be art!

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 17, 2012, 12:42 AM

Yes, it is time for one of those journal update! I'll be the first one to admit that I suck at keeping my journal updated here. But that's also why I have my Art Blog... ;)

So I hope you're all doing well and I should actually start by thanking each and every one of you for watching my art /taking a look at my gallery/commenting and for just keeping me motivated to keep my DA account alive! I know I say this alot, but I honestly do appreciate every second that you take to take a look at my art here. So a HUGE thank you to YOU!

Well, the summer is here and uhm, let's be frank; it does not feel much like summer. I think that the weather gods must hate Sweden or have forgotten to bring us the summer and jumped straight to the fall...or is still stuck in the spring. Either way, I wouldn't mind some warm sunny days any time soon! Oh well, I shouldn't complain. The other half of the globe have winter now...

In the meanwhile, I've been busy working (and counting down the weeks to my vacation...;)) and drawing/painting. I've been hit by the painting bug really bad. Or should I say the colour bug, because when I take a look back at the past art I've done - they've all been colourful. It's nice to do something new for a change and to break free from my charcoal drawings. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE charcoal drawings, but I also LOVE to explore new art forms. I'm not saying I'm skilled at every art form that I give myself in to, but that's not my aim either. I just want to explore and have fun. And fun I've had! Also, getting myself into colour drawing and watercolour painting has made me discover so many new things within those art forms. I guess it's true when they say that you never stop learning...

Alright, that's it for this time!

Stay creative!

/Debbie

Today it's our birthday! Happy b-day to the other half of the egg; my twin sis Lola! Yeah, with the risk of sounding like a person with a big ego; Happy birthday to us!

Woah, I haven't updated this journal since last May. What can I say...? I know I haven't posted much art here recently either. Real life stuff coming in the way of my time to draw and paint. I now have some time off for Easter, so I'm definitely planning on drawing something!

That's it - a very short update!

Wishing you all a Happy Easter and thank you all very much for taking a look at my gallery!

I just came back home from a weekend trip to Copenhagen, Denmark. Been there countless of times before...but this time I went there to see one of my favourite musicians of all time. I went to see Roger Waters perfor  "The Wall" live. It was a dream come true and the show was beyond amazing.

I've been listening to Pink Floyd ever since I can remember. I grew up listening to them, thanks to my dad who's a big fan of them. I was too young to see any of Pink Floyd's show when they were still touring (and I've never got over the fact that dad went to see them back in the 80's...) and so my dream was to see PF live... Seems very much like just a dream right now (but I'm still hoping...), but when I heard that Roger Waters was gonna do his "The Wall" tour - I knew I simply had to go! Come on, the guy is goin on his 70's, so there's no way in hell I'd let this opportunity to se one of my music heroes live go!

So last night dad, my sis and I (along with 47000 Danes and Swedes) saw him and oh my... The whole show was overwhelming, to say the least. Just seeing the amount of people in the arena; all Pink Floyd fans that knew every single song was so awesome. I admit I had a lump in my throat more than a couple of times during the show. I got very emotional when the show started. It was hard to believe that there he was - one of my childhood heroes. There "it" was; "The wall", taking place right in front of my eyes. A show that I'd seen so many times on TV and a show that I'd heard my dad talk about so many time before.

I'm telling ya' - all the other concerts that I've been to before seem so blurry and nothing compared to this one. This wasn't just another concert. It wasn't just another live show. It was an experience that I will forever remember. I know one thing; NO other show will beat this one. Unless I see David Gilmour live...or a show by a reunited Pink Floyd. Hey...pigs can fly... (Saw a damn big one flying right above the audience last night...).

Just had to share this with you. I'm still on cloud 9. Oh, and by the way; it was so cool to see that like 85% of the audience were old enough to be my parents/grandparents. =)

PS: Oh yeah, another thing; A Roger Waters drawing is coming up soon! :)

Good morning!

Where did 2010 go? It's crazy how fast a year's gone by! Anyway, I know you probably must be sick of New Year's greetings by now, but I just want to wish you all a very happy New Year! I hope this year will be better than last year. Personally New Years Eve is always a time were I start reflecting about the year that's gone. 2010 was a bittersweet one for me. It started off good... With a great concert by 30 Seconds to Mars in Copenhagen, followed by a new job. But after my birthday it all just went downhill, so the following 6 months or so were a challenge... November was another downhill. But then things started turning in December. So yeah, a bittersweet year for sure and I'm hoping for a much metter 2011!

::New art...coming...sort of...::
Alright enough with my rambling!

New drawings coming up soon in my gallery. :boogie: I've been having a week off work for the holidays and I was planning on drawing during that time...but I've been obsessed with playing my guitar so I'm still working on a drawing that I have been working on for the past month or so! Will upload it to my gallery soon. (TVD related...again...and that's all I'm saying...) :P

Have a good one!

The rain is puring down, the days are shorter and darker and it's cold outside. November is definitely here, very much to my disapopointment. Quite frankly; I really hate this month. This year November turned out a bit harder. My twin sister left for a trip to South America and she'll be gone for four months and then some other personal stuff has made this month pretty bad this far. Oh well, gotta keep my spirits up still!

Yesterday I got a pleasant tweet on my Twitter account from a site called a Wolfpack Spririt. They've
chosen me as "Artist of the month" on their site, which was a really cool surprise. :boogie: That made my day and I needed that after these couple of weeks! So make sure you check out their site (I know all you Twilight lovers willl enjoy the site!)!

Whate else...Oh yeah, I finally uploaded a new drawing to my gallery. It's simply called "The Vampire Diaries" and well, the tittle pretty much says it all. I've gotten a really good response to that drawing so to everyone who's faved/commented on it; THANK YOU SOOOOO VERY MUCH! I keep saying this over and over again and I'm starting to feel like a broken record; but I really do appreciated each fave and read each and every single comment that you write to me. So thank you!! :blowkiss:

With all that being said, I'm gonna wrap this up and enjoy the rest of my Friday evening. Have a good one!!

Heya...

I have a pulse, some vitals signs so I'm still alive. So yes, I'm still around, I haven't left dA. I've just been extremely busy since August, with work... :( Over the past week I've tried to draw a bit so hopefully I'll be uploading something new to my gallery by the end of this weekend. Thanks for still commenting/faving my art though! Although I don't have the time to write back to you, I still appreciate your support very much!!! :woohoo:

Have a good day everybody!

Hello!!

I'm back (not that I was ever gone)! Whoa, it's really been a while, over a month, since I uploaded anything to my gallery. The reason why is pretty universal; summer's over...real life...work...lack of time.

I still have been checking your uploads though, although I haven't had the time to comment them all. Oh, and thank you all very much for the faves and for the comments! I do read them all and I try to reply although it might take a while these days.

Anyway, so many of you have asked me whatever happened to the Twilight competition that I entered with my drawing "Look after my heart...". You want to know who won and where on earth the site holding the competition went! The answers to those questions are pretty simple; I don't know! I'm just as clueless as you are! I have no idea whatever happen to the site or to the competition. I realised that the site was suddenly gone so...that sucks. Really. I know a lot of people who'd entered the competition had put a lot of time and work on their entries. :(

Well, It's Sunday again and I should go out and make the best of whatever's left of this day. Weekends are too short...they should come around more often. Have a good one! *hug*

....well, not really for president but I could still need your vote... so keep on reading! ;)

First off; I hope everybody's doing fine and enjoying your summer (or winter...depnding on which side of the globe you're on!)! As for me, I'm enjoying my summer to the fullest! The weather's been on top over the past weeks, with a temperature way over 30 °C were I live. Now that's a lot, considering the fact that we can have tempereratures way below -20 °C here in Sweden during the winters. Come to think of it; why does the weather always have to be so extreme over here? Hm... Either way, I'm definitely not complaining about the summer heat now! :)

::Vote for moi - please!::
Well, I finally have some vacation now and I've got more time to draw. I've recently finished a drawing of a scene from the movie "Eclipse", that I call "Look after my heart...". I've also entered a Twilight competition with this drawing and I need you guys to do me a favour. I simply need your vote! So if you think that my drawing deserves to win, then please vote for me right HERE and click on "Love it"! :blowkiss:

I wanna thank you sooooo much in advance for your vote, it's very much appreciated! :woohoo:

:: Busy me ::
I know I haven't written here in a while, but I'm still around and still drawing whenever I can. So much has been happening in my life over the past 6 months. A lot of changes, most of them good ones. I've been a busy, busy bee working but after next Friday I will have some vacation and then I will have more time to submit new art here! :)

:: Taking requests! ::
I thought it would be fun to take requests from you on what I should draw/paint next. I've seen a lot of you taking requests and it seems like fun so I thought I'd give it a go! So if there's anything/anyone that you would like to see me draw/paint - please send me a note and let me know! :boogie:

Alright, gonna go and get something to drink now. The summer has FINALLY hit Sweden and it's over 30 degrees Celsius right now. Not complaining though, as I  the summer! I hope you're all are enjoying your summer (or winter, depending on where you live!) as well!

Hello!

I figure it's time for a new journal entry! It's been a while since I've updated my journal here, so it's about time that I do that! First off; I wanna thank each and everyone of you for supporting my art here and for all the comments! A lot of them are hilarious and I enjoy reading them all! I try to reply every comment, even though it might take a while!

Second; for the ones who follow me on Twitter, Facebook and on my art blog - I know I haven't been very active this past week and I apologize. A lot of things have been happening lately in my life and I've just stayed away from the internet. A week ago I lost a very dear and near friend and it's been an ovewhelming week. Thank god for art because that's the one thing that's like therapy to me. So I've been doing a lot of drawing lately (will upload new stuff to my gallery soon!).

Third...Uhm, I don't think there's a third this time so I'll just leave it at that and make it a wrap! :)

I hope you all are doing well and that you're enjoying the spring (or fall...depending on which side of the world you are!) A massive hug to you all!

Hello everybody!!

First off; I want to thank each and every one of you for commenting on my DA posts and for all the faves! :woohoo: You guys are awesome (but yeah, you already knew that...)

Second; please take a look at this new group here on DA called "MovieFanart", that focuses on movie fanart! Oh, and of course feel free to join them too!

Third...here comes the boring part about this update. It's about people taking my drawings without asking me first! *grrrr....*

I think it's really flattering that people like my work and that they wanna use it on their sites, but all I'm asking for is that you ask for my permission before you go ahead and take my art for your own use. To just take my art without asking me first is just  NOT OK! :frustrated:

I know I'm not the only one on DA that's had their art stolen, so that's why I feel like it's time for me to take a stand on this issue... Oh and that's also the reason behind all of the annoying watermarks that I put on my work here. Sorry about that, I know most of you hate it, but what's a girl to do...?

With that being said, I just wanna wish you all a nice weekend (it's Friday tomorrow, yeih!). Oh, and a happy Valentine's Day too, of course! :blowkiss:

Thank you so very much for following me throughout the year! I can't begin to say how much I really appreciate your support in any kind of way! Comments, features, new watchers, fave adds or just people who have taken a look at a drawing of mine - that has really meant a lot to me and it's kept me motivated!!

So with that, I'll leave you now and look forward to a brand new year here with you!

Hello!

I just finished my first commision drawing! It was so much fun to draw and I don't know why I hadn't made commission drawings earlier. A lot of you have asked me in the past if I do commision drawings, but I guess I just wasn't that interested before. I guess I was afraid that I'd get bored drawing something that was someone else's idea, but it was quite fun. So yeah, as from now on, if anyone's interested - I'm open for making commission drawings! :) Just bring it!

Christmas is just around the corner and brr...it's so freaking cold here! Right now it's -8ºC outside - too cold if you ask me! But on a brighter note; we have lots of snow outside (and it's snowing even more now as I'm writing this!) and it looks like we'll get a white Christmas this year! Yeih! So I guess the little Grinch in me is actually getting in the Xmas spirit... On top of this, I've finished all of my Christmas shopping already! That's just surreal in my world, hehe. Usually I'm always out after the last Christmas persents the day before Christmas, but not this year. I'm actually kind of proud of myself! ;) Wow...miracles do happen!

Alright, before I wrap this up, I wanna take the opportunity to thank you all for your support and for watching my gallery! Also, have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hugs, Debbie

Hello!

It just hit me that November is almost over and soon Christmas time's here. Where the heck did November go? No - where did the YEAR go?

Anyway, I've been home from London for a few days now. London was AWESOME, to say the least :). I just absolutely loved it there! We spent a few days sightseeing ("we" would be my sister and I) and then one day we spent at Koko's which is the venue in Camden, London where the 30 Seconds to Mars gig that we went to took place at.

The gig was alright...but I'm not a big fan of the band, but it was cool seeing them again. We got autographs from the band after the show. My thoughts of the band during the signing were pretty much this "Shannon looks tired. Man...Jared Leto is short! And Tomo's hot!". I didn't botehr saying anything to them... My sister handed Tomo a drawing that she'd made of him though. She asked him to give it to his girlfriend, which I thought was cool because suddenly she caught his attention.

Oh, and what's the deal about the London weather being lousy? Seriously, we had a great weather when we were there last week. It was so much more pleasant than the coldness here. It felt like the Swedish September there. Did it rain? It only rained when we arrived there and then we had two cloudy days  and the other days were sunny and felt like spring days! So I didn't see what the fuss about the English weather is all about... ;P

What else..? Oh yeah, has anyone seen "New Moon" yet? I haven't, but I will this Friday! Better late than never, right? I wasn't really planning on seeing it...but you literally get brain washed with New Moon/Twilight/Robert Pattinson stuff in London. They're everywhere! So I have to go and check out New Moon now... I hear it's good. I've spoken to people who have already seen it 3-4 times! I think once will be enough for me! :)

Alright, that's it for now. I will upload some new things to my gallery soon!!

Take care you all!

OK, so as you might've noticed, I just recently posted a couple of Twilight related drawings and I know I have posted some before. If you're sick and tired of my Twilight drawings, then sorry about that!

I just got so inspired to do all these drawings/paintings when I started to read the Twilight serie (note to you all: I did  actually read the three first books before I even watched "Twilight", a few weeks ago!). I loved the books and the movie was...well...OK. I prefer the books, hehe.

Anyway, for the ones who are sick of my Twilight stuff; I'm currently working on something that's got nothing to do with Twilight. ;)

Well, I guess that's all I had to say!

Take care!!

Hello!
Wow, it's been a while since I updated my journal here! I hope you're all doing well, even though it's getting darker and colder outside (unless you're lucky enough to have spring were you live now!).

As for me, I'm battling a nasty cold right now, but i'm not going to bore you with details because I know you don't wanna hear about that. On a brighter not, the good thing about having a cold (hey...gotta try to see the positive side in everything, right? ;)) is that I've had a lot of time to draw (and to paint too!), so I've uploaded a couple of my drawings today. I have some more, but I think I'll upload them sometime next week (probably tomorrow).

Anyways, I've got some great news! On November 16th, my sister and I are flying to London to attend a show by 30 Seconds to Mars! I'm really excited about it! So anyone else here going?

That's about the only thing that's making me look forward to November. Usually I find November the most boring, dark month of the year.

Well, I guess that's it for now!

Have a great weekend! :hugs:

Hello all my lovely watchers!

I'm happy today because I'm, off to "la bella Italia" tonight. :) I'm gonna be gone for 10 days (thank God!) and I can't wait 'til I get away from rainy Sweden.

Anyway, I still have to finish packing. I've been packing all day and if you know me, then you also know how much I "looooove" packing... That's a lie. A big fat lie. I hate packing! So I guess I could've finished packing hours ago, but instead I've been postponing it and then I got caught up playing around with Photoshop and well, "This is war" is the result.

Well, better go and face that luggage...gaaaaaah!

Take care you all and have a lovely weekend!

Hello!
I'm back from my trip to LA and oh...what a bummer to be back. No, really!

LA was awesome, to say the least and my sister and I had a blast every single day. Things there are so surreal...like we'd see huge celebrities on the streets just like that. Weird, at least if you come from a small town in Sweden like me!

Anyways, we did the whole tourists in LA thing (plus much more!), hehe. Like we did a few Hollywood tours, went to Universal Studios, saw a couple of film premieres (the world premieres of "Wolverine" and "Star Trek". Did see all of the big stars there too!) and we even sat in the audience of a couple of talk shows (the Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson show). We were invited to go to a Jay Leno show, but we'd made plans for that afternoon already :(. Oh, and we also took part of The Summit (you 30 Seconds to Mars fans all know what I'm talking about). Unbelievable!!! That day was surreal...they interviewed my sis and I and took us up to Capitol Records (just some chosen fans got to go there)...Can't say more about that though!

All in all the whole trip was a dream come true so coming back home wasn't fun at all. Didn't even miss home at all... Not even all that talk about the swine flu made me wanna go home (and believe me, people really are freaked about about the swine flu over there!). Oh, speaking of the swine flu... Click HERE to check out a clip of my sis and I on the Craig Ferguson Show on April 28th. ;)

Now I have a major jetlag (Sweden is 9 hours ahead of LA) so my head feels weird...like my body's here but my head is still in Lala-land, or something!

Oh, and as for anything new going on when it comes to drawing or painting...I haven't really had the time to start on anything new, but I will soon! So thanks for sticking around here while I've been gone!!

Hugs!!
